Today’s weather would be the best of these days. But my luck was the worst. I and Shuxiao Tao went to the East River Waterfront Esplanade in the early morning. Actually it was still under-construction. But we found something fun beside Rutgers Park: a little public library box!

Then we moved to Wooster St to see the Earth Room/DIa Center for the Arts. Unfortunately, it would open at 12 p.m and we arrived there at about 11a.m. So we decide to wonder around the neighborhood to seek some other museums. The first ‘museum’ we found was called “pop international galleries”. There were a lot of paintings exhibited inside. These paintings were really fantastic. The artist Arno Elias used both digital and physical way to create a series of beautiful drawings. They were all based on BW photographs and paint with color to highlight different part of the original photos. This recreate action refresh the photos and transfer them into a brand new field.

After this we went into a furniture store beside to Dia Center of Art which was called “Fab. Presents happy Modern”. We enjoy the wonderful designs very much. They explore the potential in shapes, materials, functions of modern furniture. You will really feel much happier after you took a look of what they have.

Then finally time passed 12 p.m. and we went into Dia Center of Art. Earth Room was located on the second floor of the center. It was a huge room filled with earth, nothing else. I could not understood what the purpose of the designer is. It was really boring when you compare it to the former galleries we just visited.

Then we went to 7 Ave and 28 St to meet with my girlfriend. She came from UPenn to visit me. We had lunch at a Japanese Restaurant. When we ordered menus, I notice the logo design of dinning culture. They were quite simple and clear, which I liked very much.

Beside the corner of 7 Ave and 27 St, there was an exhibition of graduate student works of Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). We three went into the Goodman Center to have a look the design works. The exhibition include accessories design, advertising design, animation design, fabric styling, fashion design and fine arts etc. The exhibition will closed at 22nd this month. There was a video called “relationships” which impressed me a lot. The scene changed very phenomenally. Because no photos are allowed to taken there, I can only describe it with boring words. You guys should took a visit to the exhibition after class. It is worthy.

After this, we took Path train to New Jersey to visit Richard Meier Model Museum, which was located inside the main building of Mana Company. Unfortunately again, according to the door man, the museum should be visited by guide touring. But there were only two touring guide in the afternoon 2p.m. and 4 p.m. but it was 3 p.m. when we arrived there. We went into a huge glass gallery to kill time. The gallery was also belong to this company and Meier was a partner of the community of it. He designed the gallery and collected many artists’’ work inside it.

We headed back to the main building at 4 p.m. and a guide tour lead us to visit a series of galleries inside it. But when we tried to enter the Richard Meier Model Museum, it said it had already closed until Friday. We took several photos outside the glass of museum and moved back to Manhattan asap!

Last but not worst, when we arrived at MOMA it was just passed the closing time of MOMA. WTH, I thought. I bought several postcards at the MOMA store at the end of this unlucky day.

The key museums on the list were all closed or just opened. And we gained a lot from the museums out of the list. God must feel boring today and want to play with us.
