What I am very interested in and also trying to show through the video is to see and to understand the way how water involved into the landscape. I selected several videos which all focus on the representation of how water engaged into the landscape, separately showing different perspectives which are FAKE NATURE, WAVING, GRAVEL AND STONE, URBAN FOUNTAIN, RELATIONSHIP WITHIN LANDSCAPE.

Based on the draft and the comments from professor Martin gave me, I did more effort on the order within the five parts of video. And also the videos themselves. I selected it to kind of follow the basic rule, which is, stable, moving in sequence. I felt like that order is able to offer people more sense of different perspectives. The length of every videos are also follow some rule, like, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 10 seconds….in sequence, basically, not quite strictly, to give people different break down.

Plus, I used the original water soundtrack instead of music soundtrack. Therefore, all kinds of different water soundtrack brings varieties and it is very enjoyable.

Also I worked on transitions between the shots to make the series of shoots move more naturally and soft.

Johanna~~ Your final version looks elegant. The changing between each video clip is very smooth. I like the details you took for the fountains!

As other classmates discussed about the title--"fake nature", maybe you can change it into a more specific term(maybe waterfall?). Since other titles you used as "wave", "urban fountain" point out each part of your video, so it would be perfect if you can choose a more specific title~~ And again, I really like your film!

I like the idea that you collect so many different types of water and cut them together, especially some effect you use just respond to the feature of the topic, for example, the text comes out in the end. The only thing I wanna suggest is the word "fake", maybe it's better way to use "artificial".

i would probably argue that the landscapes you describe in the film are not so much "fake nature", as you call them, but rather forms of "constructed nature": i think that architects and landscape architects who design these environments would probably like to think of their work less as "fake", which tends to have negative connotations. everyone here knows that they are not trying to simply reproduce nature in a kind of primordial, elemental form, which is where i think your use of the term "fake" comes from.

you are to be commended for your single focus of looking for and documenting water elements in the landscapes we visited throughout the week. however, some of these are better than others: the trickling water at teardrop, the plan shots of waves of water washing onto the shore, the still pool of water at lincoln center are all quite elegant; while there is water in the frame, other shots such as the last one at socrates art park, seem less directly about water: there are people milling around the site, etc.

with its still images seen in rapid succession, the introduction seems a bit out of place, given the rest of the film.

another interesting shot that ends up being a little bit out of place here is the shot of your feet in the water: as an individual shot, it's really great, but because it's the only one of this type in the entire film, it promises a unique point of view that doesn't deliver elsewhere..

I like the shot of the stones whose color are change because of tide, it present the how an element in nature is being affected by another one, the change can be subtle however though time, the result could make a huge difference from the original.
Another one that I liked is the one your shoes are included. The water is almost touching your feet but it is not. This sense of feeling is really interesting. Just like when we trying to design a park, we do not want people go straight, instead, we want to show the final destination with couple of detours, it will shows like the destination is almost there but not yet, we try to create some interesting moment that can let people enjoy their journey, enrich the space and path but not complicate it.

I thought your shots were very interesting. It really compares and contrasts the artificial water function and then the non-artificial. The beginning credit were a bit much but the simplicity of the shots really helped settle that and make it more thoughtful.
I also liked your last scene of Socrates Park in which you showed how people enjoy the water. Maybe if you put more scene like that it would help relate your overall theme.

i love how your film displays the variety of relationships water portrays in this urban setting. with water being an asset for survival its intriguing to see what mankind chooses to do with such resource. i think your video is well put together and was impressed with a few of the transitions put in place.

I understand your theme that how the water engages in landscape, and the film shows elements which is related to the water. However, I'm confused that the sequence of arraying them and how those elements can involve in landscape design. And I don't agree the term, 'fake nature', because you are duplicating nature elements in urban landscape especially. I like last continuous shot which shows the real relationship between water and land.

Your film looks so cool! I like it!
It has a great rhythm and a clear theme.
All the shots are supporting your theme and really elegant. And I like you put names at beginning of different parts. I think that can make more sense for us.

I don't know if I like the term "fake nature", only because it is still a part of our spinning eco-system, but I did enjoy the overall idea of capturing processed landscapes. Maybe adding in some of the "natural" landscapes that we visited would have been cool!
