Hi Christina! The video taken by your camera (GoPro?) looks so cool, especially the Spherize effect! It records a lot of details through passing the path. Some of the suggestions I think maybe can improve the video, first is the sound track, I feel a little bit confused that how you combine it with the film, the speed, atmosphere? Second is about the speed between each cut or photos. All of them seem be accelerated many times, but it makes me a little bit nervous. Maybe you can reduce some of the information instead of putting all of them.
no changes from early draft! again, i think that the goal of the film is to provide a more specific perspective about what you might have learned (not just what you have seen) over the course of the week. does this change your sense of what the place of landscape in urban environments is, what landscapes do, how they function, what they look like? what are the sites that pushed back against these initial preconceptions the hardest? the film is far too neutral at this point.
The beginning of this film really brings me into a busy city, through the shot of running subway I can feel that how fast the city is functioning in many ways. However the reset of the video is present "bustling" through the speed of changing slide, the content seems not so related to the theme. There are many photos about green places, parks, which i think is showing the city knows when to relax for a little while. It will be so great if you video the steam of people and steam of cars regarding the theme you pick.
It's very interesting to accelerate the rhythm of the video. For me, it kinds of bring a sense of humor and also the video is very intense, like a film full of intense plots. And I especially love the part you use a series images to enlarge the view while combined with the soundtrack.
Plus, it's obvious that you did a lot of work through this week and you got enough materials to make several videos but I think it may include a little much in this video. It would be better if you deleted some of them and focus on highly selected ones.
BRAVO! Like you, the film is beautiful. Why compartmentalize a theme when you can capture the essence of NYC?! Excellent work.
I really liked your video. It really portrayed the atmosphere of NYC. I also loved how you used the street performer singing Hey Jude as a soundtrack by the end of the video, it was really interesting. Though the theme is broad I think you did a good job relating it in your movie. Also the GoPro pictures are super cool and add to the video for sure. The only thing I would recommend would be to slow the video down a bit because it is a bit fast pace compared to the sounds.
beginning and ending shots were very cohesive. I think your film does a greaat job taking you through the landscape but perhaps does so at a very fast pace. The goPro perspective adds a whole new light to the film and gave you some great opprotuities when working with water.
I appreciate the amount to the shots you collected during the week. It is a lot of information and I feel a bit confused the point you are trying to tell. I guess it is about the hustle movement which is vague I think but maybe you can focus on the things making the noise, like the subway you showed in the first shot, such as helicopter and food truck... etc. So the theme can be more consistent.
Face pace shots is really interesting. I'm little confusing what you want to focus on, but I think continuous shots along the pathway could be really exciting film. Because it is urban landscape and always many people is bustling on the street. So, if you link the videos that you've took along the walkway, it could be best film to show the character of urban landscape.
Hi! The effect of increasing speed is so cool! It is quickly bring me into your film. That is great! And I think some shots you have taken at height over our head is really cool and unique. I like them!
But I am a little confuse about your theme. The while video is like a collection of this tour. Maybe you can focus on some point.
Plus, maybe you can split the voice track into different parts at different place that can make the film more comfortable.
The sound you captured for your film is very effective. You definitely have some great shots of all the different sites we traveled on our tour throughout NYC but I feel like you should have closed in on a specific concept/theme. This covers a lot of what we saw and may come off as vague. Ultimately, great sound, vivid shots, specify idea.
Hi Chrisie~ I like the shots and videos you took a lot! The perspective looks cool! I would suggest that maybe you could use all horizontal screens or put 2 vertical screen into a full screen so it could look horizontally. And I am not sure whether the sound track is from the subway from the first video and continues to later videos? Maybe using the actual sound clips along with each video would be better~~
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
